Divine Name - YHWH

in response to reader comment: The Divine name that will endure for ever

In anwer to your question: YHWH are English letters taken from the English Alphabet in direct translation to the Hebrew Tetragrammaton - which I am sure you will agree.

YHWH when standing alone - and if read out by any English-speaking person, it could appear as an acronym. Therefore, in order for an English-speaking person to understand it, vowels A and E were added to YHWH , to make it a "normal"-sounding name hence - YAHWEH - which can now be used as God's name.

However, as with someone trying to Englify his or her original name (from the country they were born) - the name has taken on a further Englified version of JEHOVAH. That name when further translated to other global languages and myriads of lands, was changed slightly to suit that specific language. For eg Carlos (Spanish) is Charles (English) - and so on and so forth.

I hope that answers your question. Today, that Divine Name JEHOVAH - however, pronounced and spelt in many countries around the world, is preserved by GOD himself - and by his true witnesses. Blessings through Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God (John 3:16).
