The word Allah! Is it god or is it the God?

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? - Continued
in response to reader comment: the danger of generalization

Our dear Taj wrote us with this little gem

The literal translation of Allah is "God",

Really? well Muslims tell us that the word Allah is a contaction of the word al-Ilah of THE GOD! Do you know what this means? It means that the word Allah means the God and not God as you claim

thus the literal question, "Is God God?" is then rendered absurd...

Not really because the question would: Is Allah which is a contraction of the word al-Ilah or the God, really God? Your claim is and you must pardon me: absurd
