remember 'ilah' and 'al-ilah' ...

Arabic does have a perfectly good word to refer, in a generic sense, to 'any' god - that word is ilah and when the article is required al ilah. Now in pre-Islamic times both al ilah and allah were in use - allah had already become associated as the name of a pagan god worshipped at the Kabba - so Christian Missionaries used the term al ilah to differentiate their god from the pagan god allah. When Islam raised it's ugly head, Muhammad came preaching allah as the 'one god' - the Arabs laughed at him, at first, and were even able to get him to 'recognize' allah's [3] daughters (al lot, al uzza and manat) as gods that could be worshipped at the Kabba (the 'Satanic verses'). It was then, after being caugth in his hypocrisy, that Muhammad fled to Yathrip (Medina) and developed his vicious and retributive policies.

NO I SAY!!! No one should use the name allah to refer to any other god than the god of Islam. Musilms are stuck with "a vengeful, alarming deity, one responsible for those frightful fatwas and ghastly jihads".

Jews and Christians do not worship allah, they worship the true god of Abraham, who's name He has told us is YHVH. We 'refer' to Him as El or Elohim or Theos or Dieu or Dios or God BUT His NAME is YHVH NOT allah. Based solely on allah's attitude toward the Jews - allah could never be equated with YHVH. NEVER I SAY!!!

THERE IS NO GOD BUT YHVH!!!
