Allah= Elohim

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? - Continued

Oliver, if you read my comments again, You will see that I was not attempting to equate Allah with YHWH, but linguistically, it does very much equate with Elohim, as I previously mentioned. Al= El and Ilah= Eloh. The name Allah is the ellision of El and Eloh. Elohim is the plural form of Eloh, used to show repsect, just as the Qur'an is replet with references to "Allahuma". If you would care to refute this, please do so by providing proof about this name. YHWH is not the only name ascribed to the Divine.

Furthermore, as Abraham is considered both the patriarch of the Arabs and the Jews, and his son Ishmael the patriarch of the Arabs, I do see a common point of origin that you seem to conveniently deny. Are you saying that Abraham and Ishmael worshipped a pagan pantheon? Please provide some proof of this.
