Worshipping a man?

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? - Continued
in response to reader comment: Allah and the black stone

Submitted by Ibn Sina (United States), Sep 29, 2006 at 12:39

...and yet, Christians seem to see no contradiction in worshipping a man. See nothing problematic in kneeling before the Rood, or making as their symbol a instrument of torture (i.e. the crucifix). And completely ignore the pagan roots of ideas about messiah like figures being born to a young virgins. (An idea that doesn't come into being, to my knowledge until the Council of Nicea and which rests on a misreading of the Hebrew in Isaiah). The list goes on...but what's more problematic is that your comments display an ignorance of the rituals that comprise the Haj. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haj)
