Is Allah God???

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? - Continued

Dear Mr. Pipes,

This question can be answered with one word: No. Allah is NOT GOD. Ask any ex-Muslim, (such as Walid Shoebat, for example) and they will tell you that the Muslim version of God is not the same as Jehovah, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In fact, they cannot understand how Jesus Christ can be the Son of God. They think it is blasphemy and can only think of God as a single being, not God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost , the Holy Trinity.

I lived in Egypt for ten years and can tell you that the Islamic version of God is very very different from the Christian or Jewish understanding, and although they say they are "tolerant" of "people of The Book ( the Bible or Torah) and say they must respect them, I feel at heart they really don't, otherwise they wouldn't get so upset about some silly opera in Germany that depicted Mohammed's severed head. Does anyone remember the opera "Salome" where she insists that she wants John the Baptist's head on a silver platter? Did Christians start rioting over this? I don't think so.

Respectfully,

Rebecca Moulds
