There is no Allah but only the Prophet

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? - Continued

Probably, the Pope is right when he says that Muslims and Christians worship same God. At least, if you limit the Christian version of God to Old Testament, one finds that both the Allah and the God are jealousy Gods, prone to punishing their own chosen people. Their wrath falls first on their chosen people and then on the enemies of the chosen people. Though Allah is praised as Benevolent and Merciful, his mercy is limited to "The Faithful". Because, he repeatedly proclaims in the Koran that his punishment can be severe. He advises his followers to be harsh on the unbelievers.

However, my reasonable guess is that there is no Allah. He was created by the Prophet for putting the scare of God amongst the followers of the nascent religion. What exists is only the Islamic imperialist ideology masquerading as religion and its founder the Prophet. Even the Muslims admit that one may lampoon Allah and get away with it, but no by fooling around with the Prophet's name and personality. The Danish cartoonists found this truth after a great ordeal.

What the Koran proclaims as Allah's injunctions are the injunctions of the Prophet to his followers. Otherwise there is no reason why Koran should be burdened with so many temporal matters instead of focusing on spirituality. The excessive focus on punishing unbelievers, wars, booty, sex in the Koran and the Sunnah gives for an impression that Koran is an imperialistic manual and not a scripture. The God was not required to be so obsessed about the world and the people he created, which he could have destroyed with a snap of finger.

In my view, Koran has not been analysed in the same manner that Bible was analysed by the Biblical scholars for over two hundred years. Unless such an analysis is undertaken, true nature of Koranic teachings will not be known to the common Muslims who rarely read Koran, instead follow the guidance of the clerics. Of course, the scholars might be afraid of another Khomeiny style fatwa against them.
