in response to reader comment: Extending the challenge to all Muslims here

Noah Wilk says:

"So I am opening this discussion to all Muslims. Show us what Islam is doing today that will be judged by recorded by history as being beneficial to world peace and advancement."

Islam divides the world into two regions: "dar al-Islam (the house of submission) and dar al-Harb (the house of war). By their definition, only dar al-Islam is at peace (and the Koran exhorts them to expand it by war -- jihad -- on non-Muslims). If they are successful in eliminating dar al-Harb and the entire world becomes dar al-Islam, then indeed future (Islamic) history will record that Islam brought universal peace -- this is what they think.

In reality, of course, Muslims will never stop fighting among themselves: a culture based on slavery (Islam = submission) and war (jihad) will never know peace, and will not be responsible for any advancement in Human well-being.
