in response to reader comment: Moderates and Sharia

Is it the implementation of Sharia law into general civil law and the nations system of justice or is it the the use of Sharia courts by Muslims that is of concern. If it's the adaptation of Sharia courts and Islamic religious laws by the general civil courts and inclusion into National justice system I'd say you had a lot to worry about. If it's about Muslims practicing their religious laws and courts as do the Christians with their religious rulings and so the Jewish with Rabbinical courts, I'd say that as long as there is national law that supersedes Sharia courts decisions and that no religious law is to set precedence over civil law than you have nothing to be concerned with.

Unless of course you're Muslim and are coerced into accepting the religious dictates of the Sharia courts and face persecution if you seek redress in civil courts. Then as a Muslim you would have to stand and fight for what is legitimately a right under law or be cowed into accepting the oppression of your religious leadership. There aint nothing free about freedom.

As for multiculturalist, well they're just communist, and socialist. They have an ideology that has never been implemented in the true sense of the word. They paint a pretty picture but the reality is horrible and terribly oppressive. Personally, I believe that multiculturalism is social marxism and is what is wrong with western society today.

Ultra-right social neo-conservatism is the response to multiculturalism. True Liberalism has been usurped by the Franco-German socialist movement, the multiculturalist, and no longer exist in practice any where. Don't buy into the Europe is doomed senario. See what the Dutch just did to reclaim some sense of cohesion and national understanding. Regrettably, sovereign democracies shouldn't have to resort to such extremes to protect their citizenship.

I don't pretend to have all the answers and I feel obligated to state this is but my opinion. I believe that the true nature of anything can be determined by its actions and that the intellect of the individual needs to be better exercised to discrimanate. I say learn to discriminate, cultivate your personal convictions and seek out those who share your thinking and find suitable leadership. Demand leaders with conviction. Do not lose heart. You are not alone in this, it is happening all over the world.
