Sorry Stephen, Herbert Armstrong is best known for being just plain wrong about a lot of things Biblical. He was responsible for founding a denomination that was known for its un-Biblical theology (see for example "The Price of Change: A Follow-up on the Worldwide Church of God" at the website of the Christian Research Institute). Armstrong's teachings were wrong regarding his eschatology and exegesis; the current leadership of the Worldwide Church of God has repudiated his non-Biblical teachings and joined the rest of the denominations that rely on Biblical truth.

The Bible clearly describes a "reborn" Roman Empire, and certainly present Germany lies within the geography of the original Roman Empire. Future conflicts are described in the Bible; however, while the conflicts are certain, the precise identity of the players is not concrete. Armstrong's identificaton of the English speaking countries as the "lost tribes" of Israel is plain fantasy.

I hope you are serious enough in your studies and search for Biblical truth that you will allow the Bible to speak for and interpret itself instead of allowing a human teacher (and in Armstrong's case a sorely wrong one) to pour his own interpretation into it. (The difference between exegesis and eisegesis)
