Eurabia or Eurasia

Reader comment on item: Europe is Finished, Predicts Mark Steyn

Submitted by Jon (France), Nov 14, 2006 at 15:35

Obviously Mr. Steyn is correct on his judgement of Europe. A little less sophisticated than Oriana Fallaci, but pobably as thoughtful.

Perhaps Europe will follow the path of arabisation, but perhaps one thing Mr. Steyn noticed, in your xtract, is that all this was predicated on the physical proximity of Europe to the high natality countries of North Africa.

I would have though myself that the queston of distance is of less iportance now, and that after all the Arab "world" is a small fraction of humanity. Perhaps Europe has a dirth of "homeground" infants, but who is to say that this deficit will not, in the future, where a certain degree of "méfiance" is becomming the norm toward our moslem brothers, be largely asian ... after all a much larger, more rapidly expanding and more prosperous "underclass" is developing there than in the wastes of Algeria..
