A huge mosque is Andalusia?Reader comment on item: Europe is Finished, Predicts Mark Steyn Submitted by Octavio (Italy), Dec 19, 2006 at 11:32 I am not Spanish, but I am worried about a huge mosque being built in Cordoba, Andalusia. I hope the Spanish people reject this deadly project, because this mosque would be bigger than Casablanca's and it would become the second mosque in the world, in terms of size and number of faithful. By term of comparison, Casablanca's mosque can host 25,000 faithful, and this one would be bigger. Andalusia has a special place in Muslim culture, because it was once ruled by Muslims. The project must be rejected, because it is sponsored by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, who intend to influence Spanish domestic policy. Saudi Arabia gave the money for the mosque of Rome (Italy) which, at present, is the largest in Europe. This new mosque in Cordoba, would become the largest in Europe, and the second in the whole world. If I was Spanish, I would be offended by the fact that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are trying to influence Spanish domestic policy. The risk for Anadalusia is much higher than the risk for Rome. Andalusia was ruled by Muslims for 9 centuries, and even Bin Laden often refers to Andalusia as an occupied Muslim territory. In Italy, we have got Sicily, which used to be ruled by the Arabs, but it is not the same, because the domination was shorter. Muslims and Arabs still view Andalusia as their own land, and want to start a Reconquista. Why do I care if am not Spanish? Because this mosque would definetely pave the way for a Muslim Europe. I hope the Spanish people will tell the Saudis and the Emirates to keep their money. I hope they will not build that mosque.
