Reader comment on item: Europe is Finished, Predicts Mark Steyn

Submitted by J.S. (Canada), Nov 14, 2006 at 18:59

I tend to agree with Mark Steyn that Europe is doomed. I believe it's too late. And, there's another reason why I say this. I suspect that there are a large number of Europeans who do not view Islam as a threat -- to the contrary, they may feel Islam is a great boon. There are far-right groups in Germany, for example, which align themselves with Iran. Perhaps at some level Europe and Islam are, in fact, natural allies. Europe murdered 6 million Jews in the 30s, they have no qualms about Islam wanting to do the same to Israel in the 21st century...what's another 6 million to them? Does anyone believe that Europeans care about the genocide of Jews? They welcome it.

Read the "moral" thinking of a Chirac, if you have any doubts.

Three other points, Karsh (in his text Islamic Imperialism) negated the notion of a "clash of civilizations" during the Crusades. Karsh offered evidence that (far from being some sort of ideological clash) Christians cooperated with Muslims (and vice versa). Thus Karsh gave examples of Naples (and other Italian city states) cooperating with Muslims to oppose other Christians, etc. I think the same is true today -- who's willingly supplying and arming and equipping Iran if not the French and the Russians. Both Christian states. (Bauer in the text, While Europe Slept, notes that the pope has not made any public statements against terrorism, see footnote on page 218.)

Second point -- the Ultra Left also exists in the United States. CNN (that great pro-Arab station) reports that Rumsfeld may be hauled before a European (that's German) court to be tried for "war crimes." Is Saudi money paying for this, I wonder? Is that so-called bi-partisan group headed by Baker free of Saudi money? In other words, just how much hope can one place in the United States -- or will they too succumb to the European disease?

Third point -- the pro-Arab, pro-7th Century Islamists have ruined western universities. Many departments are no longer bastions of academics, but bastions of political ideologies. Academic "elites" (in terms of rigourous scholarship) no longer exist. Ditto for media outlets. I hear that al Jazeera will begin broadcasting Arab "news" in English....no doubt the UK will quickly pick up on that channel (the antisemites will have a field day). A number of the barriers against the spread of Islam are disappearing (such as un-biased media outlets, un-biased university faculties).

Next it'll be our courts and justice systems...(and, no Jack Cafferty -- although he whines about being a potential target of the U.S. administration, he has nothing to fear, no need to worry -- he is safe -- like any good Dhimmi he does the Arab's bidding, another "on his knees" bowing down, like all the other cowards.)
