Dear Seamus,

I for one defend your right to believe in the Deity of your choice. I take it as one of the principles of a democratic society. I, myself believe that a mans spiritual beliefs are an act of intimacy and should not be expressed in anyway public. Religious competition and religious public expression degrades all people of faith and places those faiths on the same wrung as pornography. Just like pornography denigrates the loving intimacy of sexual partnering. We have objectified religion as we have sex.

Too many are willing to publicly discuss their sexual relationship. Too many think freedom of religion means that it is right to package their belief system, commercialize it, hawk it like pretzels or used cars. "Come one, come all. For the very small entry price of your soul and the capitulation of your values you too can have the promise of eternal delights. Bring money. This sale will only last until the next one." AND IF YA DON'T BELIEVE AS I DO I'LL KILL YA!!
