Reader comment on item: Britain's Encounter with Islamic Law

Submitted by Taj (United States), Mar 30, 2008 at 04:50

We generally don't buy a "the Devil made me do it" excuse for crimes, so why have we fallen for "Allah made me do it"?

The worst thing that terrorists can confront is the impotency of their actions on the minds of their victims. When terrorists act "in the name of Allah", they should be rebuffed by a unified attitude of "we aint buyin' that BS"...

It's about time a government/country makes a stance that totally reverses the psychological attack of terrorists-disguised-as-Muslims. It is interesting to note that centuries-old islamic scholarship has concluded that terrorism is anti-Islamic, and it is clear that our culture of fear has bought into the notion.

I can only hope and pray other countries follow this example and consider the propaganda of the Bin Ladens of the world no more "Islamic" than we consider, say, the ramblings of David Koresh as "Christian"...
