CO-EXISTENCE

Reader comment on item: Britain's Encounter with Islamic Law
in response to reader comment: I'd rather have a fundamentalist Christian America than a fundamentalist Muslim one

I don't understand the logic and reason; why I would have a problem if some one wishes to practice his or her religion and live their lives according to their beliefs.

I could not find a single state in the world which prohibits minorities from practicing their religion and implementing their religious dogmas on themselves.

Be it UN Charter, Israel's Ch. II article 13 of the constitutional draft, article 27 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights,1966, Article 12 and 13 of Iran's Constitution, Amendment-1 of the USA Constitution, report of Alliance of Civilizations 13 November 2006, article 19 -27 of Pakistan Constitution and the English and Polish Constitutional Laws.

Whether the practices , the tenets and the code of belief are right or wrong; as long as it does not materially breaches any law or any individual's rights, why someone would be intolerant , antagonistic and rude .

Please we had enough from assaults and reactions and destructions. Opposing one religion or its tenets should not in any way means supporting another religion.

One should not misuse his time, efforts and intellect on creating intolerant, fanatic and uncompromising society.

It's the CO-EXISTENCE which will guarantee peace and defeat the narrow-minded religious fanaticism, whether it is from Muslims, Christians, Jews, and Hindus or any other religions.
