You fail to fully appreciate the religion of Islam. Actually it's more than a religion----it's a way of life. It embodies faith, law, and governance into one easy to understand package----what more could one want. You have to remember the 80-10-10 rule. 80% of a population just want to be left alone (sheep if you will) and will follow the vocal activists who make up the 10% on both sides of the issue. If one side is weak or weakened then the other side can greatly influence the 80% and all they need to do is just bring along half of the 80% to effect change.
