Reader comment on item: Britain's Encounter with Islamic Law

Do you mean that the Patriot act (USA) or the Terrorism Act (UK) are here to "safeguard our way of life"?. May I remind you that these very western pieces of legislation prevent among other things to demonstrate in Parlament Square and were used to silence an 80 years old heckler in a Labour party conference.

Most people do not know the first thing about Sharia Law. They think is about stoning adulterers and discriminating women. May I remind you that all the Abrahamic religions share these most barbaric aspects in the most conservative and fundamentalist reading?
