Change is inevitable

Reader comment on item: Britain's Encounter with Islamic Law

Submitted by Mizwar (Canada), Feb 12, 2008 at 17:46

" these trends are challenging and perhaps will change the very nature of Western life"

we just hope that the change will not rule out fundamental values in the west. And from that we hope that the east becomes westernized and learn how to have cuture and modernity at the same time from the west.

As a Muslim. I believe that the west with its freedom of religion, its legal marijuana and prostitution, its welfare, equal opportunity, justice is the real Islam. the Islam where choice is a great deal. I know that after Muhamad died, a bunch of pirates took over and started colonizing and raping the other nations..that is totally wrong. Any Islamic/Muslim or Muslim state that speaks of modernity and democracy should number one, denounce 90% of Islamic political history. I love Muhammad, but I just hate the rulers that came after and modified the religion from a preaching and advise pole, to a raping pole.
