Reader comment on item: Britain's Encounter with Islamic Law

Submitted by Mansoor (Pakistan), Feb 25, 2008 at 08:37

Islamic Sharia Law and punishments are lifeline for a secure society. I strongly reject the closed door punishments and nurturing of criminals in luxurious Jails. The punishment will be quick and painful and yet horrifying which would send a strong message to the society that those who have slightest intention to commit such crime, they would think thrice before committing it. Allah's Sharia is there to save us from agony...and the method is painful but effective.

I must also say that let's try and implement the punishments in your country and see the results in just days.

The example of Saudi Arabia and the ex-Taliban regime of Afghanistan is there to give sufficient proof of their success in controlling crime.

It is very easy to put finger on Islamic Sharia and calling it unfair, but you need to show your power, fierceness and aggression so that criminals would take you serious. In the west criminals are given VIP treatment and are given luxurious jails, delicious meals and cosy bed...WOW!!!!. How would a criminal think of stepping away from crime if he knows that committing crime would only make him enjoy free stay with luxury.

Try to think about it!!
