Dangerous ignorance!

Reader comment on item: Britain's Encounter with Islamic Law

Submitted by Nick4693 (Japan), Feb 12, 2008 at 19:21

UK Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said that extremists were behaving contrary to their faith, rather than acting in the name of Islam.

Security officials believe that directly linking terrorism to Islam is inflammatory, and risks alienating mainstream Muslim opinion.

Oh, boy! Once again we have people in positions of power who simply put their foot in their mouth as soon as they open it. Jacqui, you are saying exactly what Muslim clerics want you to say!

You've got it all wrong! Extremists ARE behaving in accordance with their faith. That's what the Koran calls for, and that's what it expects and gets.

It is patently clear that people like Jacqui, who seek power, do it for selfish reasons -- their own aggrandizement -- for which they are more than willing to prostitute themselves and say anything as long as it furthers their end.

How can anyone come out with a statement like that without having at least a smattering of knowledge about Islam?

Do your homework and read the Koran, Jacqui! Then, perhaps, you'll change your tune, though I doubt it!

"Oh, but the Koran, like the Bible, was written so long ago," she'll naively say. "Muslims, like Christians, no longer follow such old tenets."

Oh?? Don't you believe it, Jacqui! Muslims are the most simple-minded, pliable, thick-headed, unthinking people on the face of the planet, because they are taught from childhood to believe and follow every single Koranic word, no matter how vacuous and inane, and, under threat of dire punishment, they NEVER question their faith.

If the Koran says the moon is made of green cheese, then, NO CONTEST, it's made of green cheese!

When your words affect others, Jacqui, choose them very, very carefully! More importantly, KNOW YOUR SUBJECT!
