Hussein you write:

>> The way you perceive islam seems to be a negatively prejudged one.The way you reffer to islam as "barbarous" proves that<<

When one refers to the Nazi ideology as a barbarous one, is one ‘negatively prejudging' it? No, we are actually ‘postjudging' it. We have seen what people who call themselves Nazis and who accept the Nazi ideology did. Similarly we have 1400 years of Islamic-Muslim history to postjudge Islam and Muslims. There is no prejudgement involved in our assessment of Islam and its true followers as barbarous. Let me give you some stuff out of the Koran, hadith and sira to prove my point.

005.033 YUSUFALI: The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter; Bukhari: Volume 4, Book 52, Number 261: Narrated Anas bin Malik: A group of eight men from the tribe of 'Ukil came to the Prophet and then they found the climate of Medina unsuitable for them. So, they said, "O Allah's Apostle! Provide us with some milk." Allah's Apostle said, "I recommend that you should join the herd of camels." So they went and drank the urine and the milk of the camels (as a medicine) till they became healthy and fat. Then they killed the shepherd and drove away the camels, and they became unbelievers after they were Muslims. When the Prophet was informed by a shouter for help, he sent some men in their pursuit, and before the sun rose high, they were brought, and he had their hands and feet cut off. Then he ordered for nails which were heated and passed over their eyes, and whey were left in the Harra (i.e. rocky land in Medina). They asked for water, and nobody provided them with water till they died (Abu Qilaba, a sub-narrator said, "They committed murder and theft and fought against Allah and His Apostle, and spread evil in the land.")

‘The Life of Muhammed' by Ibn Ishaq Pg 326: Then God reproached him about the prisoners and the taking of booty, no other prophet before him having taken booty from his enemy. Muhammad Abu Jafar b. Ali b. al-Husayn told me that the apostle said: Í was helped by fear; the earth was made a place to pray and clean; I was given all-embracing words; booty was made lawful to me as to no other prophet before me; and I…. God said, Ít is not for any prophet,'i.e before thee, ‘to take prisoners' from his enemies until he has made slaughter in the earth,' i.e. slaughtered his enemies until he drives them from the land…..

Hussain, here you see, from three impeccable Islamic sources, the brutality and barbarity of Allah and his prophet. What defence do you have for this evidence for the brutal nature of Islam. Are you like other Muslims, unable to face the truth, going to tell us that the verse is quoted without context, that hadiths cannot be relied upon as reflecting what really happened and that Mohammed Ibn Ishaq was a liar?

You write: >>It is helpful that you judge muslims by islam and not islam by muslims. The two are different.<<

Alright, let us judge Muslims by Islam. I read 9:111 which tells muslims that Allah has given a contract to them to kill and be killed for His sake and He will reward them with paradise to fulfil his side of the deal. Am I not going to be terrified of Muslims if I judge them by Islam?

I also read in the Koran that I (unbeliever) am a beast blind, deaf and dumb fit only for hell.

Read : 8:5 For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are those who reject Him: They will not believe. And I am also unclean (najees) 009.028 O ye who believe! Truly the Pagans are unclean; so let them not, after this year of theirs, approach the Sacred Mosque. And if ye fear poverty, soon will Allah enrich you, if He wills, out of His bounty, for Allah is All-knowing, All-wise. .

Allah is giving Muslims inducement of wealth for keeping out infidels from the mosque in Mecca. Allah of course has kept an escape clause, ‘ íf He wills', just in case His is bounty is not large enough. Reading these two verse will I not judge Muslims as a prejudiced lot who look upon me with loathing?

So are Muslims tarnishing Islam or is Islam tarring Muslims? Take your pick.

Why do Muslims bring in Christians when defending their religion. You are only admitting that Muslims also committed atrocities, only they were less atrocious (in Muslim estimation) than Christian ones. What about comparing Jesus with Muhammed. Did Jesus murder his critics, did he behead hundred of Jews, did he take booty and indulge in the slave trade? Remember what Mohammed did to the Quraiza women and children.

You say:>>Islam teaches peace and love<<

Merely saying Islam teaches peace and love without substantiation means nothing. The Nazis also could have said that, but who would believe them. Who, apart from Muslims, believes that Islam preaches love??

You conclude with: >> Please try to put aside your negative preconceived ideas and see the true islam ...<<

Hussein, please let me know what is negative and preconceived about what I have written.

Regards

Plato
