LAY OFF THE RELIGIONReader comment on item: Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood Submitted by D-DEE (United States), Oct 10, 2008 at 01:39 Growing up in a strict Catholic family, alot of what I considered "practiced faith" was merely forced upon me on how perceived God. However, as I grew older and became more of my own person, I realized that the Catholic faith, (though still my religion) was not a choice but an ingredient instilled in my mind by the rearing of my family. I know now that most likely, I am a Christian, but not one of a Catholic religion as much as praying by myself. Also, when registering for a school, I am sure if my faith was listed in elementary, it was Catholic, mainly because my PARENTS enrolled me, without a choice,. Think about it, when you are a 3rd Grader, do you fill out an application included a question asking what religion you are? No one does that. There is no question that Obama's family is mostly Muslim, BUT he himself does not perceive himself as Muslim, because he has a Christian faith now as an adult, THAT is why he says he is not of Muslim faith. PEOPLE... lay off his faith and focus your attention on his ideas, his focus for change (which we VERY MUCH NEED) and see the Republicans for who they are... Rich class trying to KEEP their riches by taxing the lower classes unfairly, and THAT is ONLY the beginning....
