Reader comment on item: Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood
in response to reader comment: where did he get the money?

Submitted by morp (United States), Oct 22, 2008 at 05:29

you know everyone is ALWAYS feverishly speculating on where Obama got the money for his education, usually the inference being that he was funded by foreign-born men with eventual designs of influence on the american government because, of course, they could obviously peer into the future and know with absolute certainty that this young, african-american man would be president one day...26 years later...I've got just a little suggestion for the fantasists: mom, grandparents, student loans, scholarships. Now, I know it's not as intriguing but can we please move on from the conspiricies?

Who the hell cares if he was MAYBE a muslim for some of his youth. Does anyone really think if he wins, he's going to come out of the muslim closet and try to convert everyone? First and foremost he's a PO-LI-TI-CIAN. He wants to do everything he can to retain his legacy. He knows that any admission of practising or association with islam even as minimal that he MAY have had as a child would be the nails in his political coffin. And of course you have the indignant people asking,"Well, he should be honest about it. It's a question of character." Are you kidding me? Those are the people that , IF it was true and he admitted it, they'd be the first to disqualify him for the presidency, which would be absolutely silly

Btw, how do Baracks daughters live the double christian/muslim life? Must be so much pressure for their age...
