Only in His humanity while here on earth during His first revelation was Jesus Christ submitting Himself to the will of the Father. After His resurrection and ascension, (read Matthew 28) He declared His full authority as Savior and King, in His Deity. That is how He will return according to the Revelation, removing all pretenders to the throne, to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth, which by the way is the major point of the Lord's prayer.
