Obama's childhood religion

Reader comment on item: Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood

Submitted by Ralph C Whaley MD (United States), May 2, 2008 at 10:35

It is unjust to hold Obama responsible for his being designated a Muslim when he was a young child. The issue in this case is the honesty of his statements regarding the facts of such a designation and his representations of his actual history of his early years as he remembers them on reflection as an adult.

The current mess he is in demonstrates his attempt to have his association with Reverend Wright over the years, thought of as something that no serious person could swallow. He has shown himself to be as the Reverend said of him "a politician" , one who says what he believes at the time will advance his chances of election. He has thrown his grandmother and Reverend Wright to the wolves to advance his own cause. His chickens will come home to roost in short order.
