Reader comment on item: Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood

Submitted by Carla Barokas (United States), May 2, 2008 at 12:10

Many ...like to affiliate Barack Obama with the Muslim faith. #1, if he were born a Muslim and converted to Christianity then so be it. I am a convert myself and I see nothing wrong with chosing a religion in adult life different from your parents. But alas this is not the case. If you read the keynote address below you will see, his father was born a Muslim but was an atheist. His mother was born to Christian parents. Barack Obama was raised without religion and chose a religion as an adult.

The school he attended as a child was not a madrassa, despite Fox New's best efforts to label it so. It was a secular school that taught Christianity AND Islam. But those who like to scare people they think are afraid of Muslims in general like to only mention the one. It is true the country is prodominately Muslim. But the USA is prodominately Christian, so you can judge each of us by the same standards. Here is an interview with those who knew him as a child. They were educated in the school, as I am sure the writer of that story wasn't.

Be careful what you read on the Internet. If you look you can easily find articles claiming there is proof that big foot exists.
