Sara,

Thank you for your kind remarks.

I've seen Evan Sayet and been looking for his book "Regurgitating the Apple" I have come to doubt that it has been published as of yet which is disappointing. Whilst his use of the words good and evil does tend to lead to a lot of liberals closing their ears - I like the fact that he highlights the illogical thought process that causes the left wing to assert that a culture which is failing by any number of objective standards can only be failing as a result of some form of outside persecution (by any one of their devils but chiefly capitalism, conservatives, Republicans and America).

On this point see Mark Steyn's speech on Multiculturalism on You Tube - I cannot attach a link on this browser unfortunately: Arguing cultural relativism with a cultural relativist is like playing tennis with a man who thinks your ace is a social construct.

One of the most bizzare phenomenon which I have encountered any number of times is the double think that is peculiar to the liberal artistry and intelligensia. For example I have a friend who is a singer and music director - he votes conservative and has a strong work ethic but his conservatism is limited to Australia. He also backs Barack Obama and a whole rafe of social democratic policies for America that he has always rubbished at home. What's good for the goose is therefore not necessarily good for the gander.

There is little in the way of substance to the philosophical underpinnings of the pervasively left wing arts community with its emphasis on happiness and existential "pure being" experiences - even though the members of the arts community seem to be anything other than happy at any given time.

Best Wishes,

Homefront.
