Misunderstanding Who's to Blame

Reader comment on item: Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood
in response to reader comment: the ethics of the new Christians - big time liars

First of all, I'm not a Christian, so attacking me on that basis is futile.

I wish Muslims would get over the Crusades. They happened 1,000 years ago and Christianity has evolved considerably since then. Sadly, Islam has not; but it is a relatively new religion so there is still hope.

The war in the Middle East began as a result of unprovoked Muslim terrorist attacks all over the World. America, Canada and others are fighting the war to rid the World of Muslim terrorists. As a Muslim (which I can ascertain you are because of certain words and phrases you use), you should be happy that people are trying to release Islam from the burden of blame for murdering innocent people. If you're not, then you clearly support terrorism in the name of Islam.

Another goal of the war is to bring democracy to the oppressed people of the Middle East. People who have lived under the rule of the Taliban are thankful for this.

Since you live in the UAE, you are in the most Westernized and therefore most progressive Arab state there is. You likely don't have to worry about being stoned to death for something as innocent as loving the wrong man, as one Muslim girl was. And you probably don't have to wear a tent everywhere you go in 45 degree Celsius temperatures. Maybe you can even drive a car. Many Muslim women are severely oppressed because the Taliban consists of misogynists who doggedly adhere to the strictest teachings of the Quran. It is partly for those women and their daughters that the war is being waged.

The war is definitely not about oil; if America wants oil, it doesn't have to kill people to get it. It can buy all the oil it needs; Arabs are only too happy to sell it to them. And when that supply runs out, Canada has enough oil to last North America at least 200 years at its present rate of use and much longer once alternative energy sources are introduced.

I predict that Americans will not choose a President who has even the smallest whisper of a Muslim past since it was Muslims who, in 2001, inflicted inhuman carnage on thousands of innocent Americans.

The world is a much more dangerous place now than it was even 10 years ago, and the reason for that rests 100% on the shoulders of Muslim terrorists. If you are angry with anyone, you would be best to direct your anger where it belongs - at Muslims who oppress, murder and terrorize people in the name of Islam.
