Islam & Obama

Reader comment on item: Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood
in response to reader comment: Internalization

The examination of Mr Obama, or "vetting" in popular parlance, is justified by the unclear signals Mr Obama has transmitted.

In the post 9/11 world, Muslams are suspect. Right or wrong, a hajib or burqua in the super market is a disquieting experience. Having been injured and under constant threat by Muslams, Americans are deeply suspicious of all Muslams with good reason. Mr Obama has declared himself to be "Christian". Yet we see his so called Christian minister is so far away from what the vast majority view as "Christian" as to be unrecognizable.

His name is clearly non Christian, his connections with extended family which include questionable ties with the Mu'slam mythology, and the willingness to embrace Mu'slam nation states hostile to the United States, are legitimate and troubling questions. Whether Mr Obama sees himself as a Mu'slam or not, many Mu'slams do see him as such. Mu'slams, by definition have interalized a mythology which advocates the destruction of non believers, since 99% of Americans are in this classification, self preservation would seem a sufficient motivation to closely examine one who would be the President .
