Obama recently changed the U.S. Presidential seal

Reader comment on item: Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood

Submitted by Khe (United States), Jul 7, 2008 at 17:26

You have stated in the past that Islamists want to replace the U.S. Constitution with Sharia law (October 11, 2005). Are you aware that Barack Obama recently changed the U.S. Presidential seal? Among other changes, he removed the shield over the eagle's breast which is representative of the President's oath to defend the U.S. Constitution.

He also changed the Latin motto, "E Pluribus Unum" (Out of Many, One), to "Vero Possumus" (Truly, We are Able), a rough translation of his campaign slogan, "Yes, We Can." It's been reported that Nation of Islam leader, Louis Farrakhan had criticized the original motto as not reflecting America's diversity

Another remark pertaining to Islam: Are you aware that the logo for the U.N. Human Rights Commission was changed in the late 1980s to something "that looks strikingly like the Arabic word for "Allah?"

Thanks for your articles and website.

Daniel Pipes replies:

Yes, I am aware of the fake presidential seal, which has received much attention.

I documented the logo of the Office of the United Nations Commissioner for Human Rights at "Finding Allah in Unlikely Places."
