Saladin's Award

Reader comment on item: Trouble in Londonistan
in response to reader comment: G.Bisvas, every person has an innate ability to recognize the truth when he sees or hears it...

Today I'm recognizing an award for the two goofiest, nonsensical, ridiculous and prevaricative comments ever posted on the Pipes' website. Award number 1 goes to those who continue preaching that Islam is a religion of peace. Regardless of the aggressive warring history of Muslims and their terrorist activities today, Muslims continue to repeat their mantra, "Islam Is A Religion Of Peace".

As the Twin Towers went down in New York, and three thousand lives were lost, Muslims celebrated around the world, while other Muslims told us that Islam is a religion of peace. Award number 2 goes to Saladin who on July 22, 2006 submitted comments stating that "every person has an innate ability to recognize the truth when he sees or hears it".

Did the Germans recognize the truth when Hitler told them that they were the greatest nation to ever exist, and that Germany was ushering in a 1000 year rein of prosperity and peace? Did the British recognize the truth when Chamberlain came from a conference with Hitler, after Germany had confiscated the Sudetenland Land and declared "Peace In Our Time"? The Bible is one book, out of which have sprung several hundred different religions. Are parishioners not able to recognize the truth when they read it? The Holy Qur'an has approximately 1.8 billion adherents. Why are some at war, while others are preaching peace and why are there so many different sects of Islam? Are Muslims not able to recognize the truth? A great world leader made the following statement; the greater the lie, the more likely that people will believe it. The history of our world has proven this statement true.
