Politically Correct

Reader comment on item: Trouble in Londonistan

Submitted by Infidel (Canada), Aug 10, 2006 at 15:46

I would like to admonish Dr. Pipes for consistently referring to Radical Islamists, Muslim Radicals, or Islamic Fascists. Why can't he take a page from the British and follow their "politically correct" method of reporting by referring to perpetrators of death, destruction, violence and mayhem as "terrorists". For all we know, terrorists maybe Catholics, Protestants, Lutherans, Anglicans or Mormons. Oh yes, I forgot the Amish. Any of the diverse religious population of the world maybe responsible. Ok, Ok, I know he is going to point out that 99.99% of terrorism has been committed by Muslims. But that is not fair.

I would again like to bring his attention to Britain and their preferred politically correct method of reporting. On July 7, 2005 when Muslims attacked the subway train system, did the British refer to them as Muslim Radicals, Radical Islamists, or Islamic Fascists? Of course not. When France was inundated with attacks in Paris,(remember Paris burning), did the French identify the perpetrators as Muslims? Of course not. It was the 'youths" and "terrorists".

And most importantly,(or should that be impotently), when I woke up this morning, the news consisted of, you guessed it; terrorists planning to blow up airplanes in the air destined from London. Did the British identify them as Muslims? Of course not, that is so politically incorrect, they were "terrorists". Why they may have been Catholics, Protestants, Lutherans, Anglicans or Mormons. And oh yes, I forgot the Amish. Ok, they were Muslims, but so what, we must be politically correct at all costs even if it includes placing our lives in jeopardy or living in ignorance. Therefore, Dr. Pipes, on behalf of Islam the Religion of Peace, I hereby request that you forgo the use of your previous identifying references and get used to the term, TERRORISTS.
