To saladin's monotheism

Reader comment on item: Trouble in Londonistan
in response to reader comment: G.Bisvas, if there are more than one god...

When I go to have a haircut the barber does not ask me how many hairs I want to have cut.

Similarly the actual number of gods is uninteresting. Main thing is to realise that monotheism is totalitarianism (and totalitarianism leads to fascism). Hence any number except one.

Important thing is: no violence or dictatorship in the name of any god.

But the kuran says: the muslims alone have the right to determine what is moral and what is immoral in the world and the non-muslims must accept this as the hegemonial word. (I think it comes in sura 3:110). And even to terrorise those who oppose islamic concepts.

(Does this not contradict the kuranic sentence about no compulsion in religion?)

Even Mao (a ruthless cruel dictator) said "let a thousand flowers bloom." So we need thousands of gods. God is a human construct. Genuine god has still not entered human history. Human goodness - thank god ! - does not need god. I want to be good to you because I want that you are happy, relaxed, pain-free in your life - not in order to please any god.

Islam means submission means mental slavery. What good can come from an ideology with such a horrible name? Islam extols becoming a slave - not becoming a free man. The god of islam (the arab god allah) wants us to become slaves - not free dignified men and women. Islam puts too much power in the hands of those who claim to understand the arabic language of the 7th century and to know this allah's will.

Are you beginning to understand islam's inherent fascism - the how and why of it? The muslims should learn to free themselves from their perverse idiotic obsession with god, revelation, prophet, salvation-after-death, virgins-after-death etc. etc. Recently a pakistani said that children in Pakistan should be first taught morality and then religion. When will muslims learn this truth?
