in response to reader comment: Roman Empire Crumbled Before Muslims?

Submitted by Sohail (United Kingdom), Aug 22, 2006 at 15:19

Now Ed, Muslims at that time were called Europe Roman. The Persians which Muhammad (pbuh) was talking about were the Sassanian empire who were Persians. Arab armies conquered all of Byzantine land in North Africa. They also conquered Sicily from them and nearly conquered Constantinople the capital. They conquered Spain and Portugal from The Visigoths and went far north into Poitiers in the Frankish Empire. They overrun the Persians in 651 and reach the borders of India. They conquered all this land from the Byzantines and Persians within a hundred years of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) death.
