Reader comment on item: Trouble in Londonistan
in response to reader comment: Non-Muslims in the Quran

Sohail, thanks for taking the trouble to respond. Unfortunately, the 10 quotes you selected (3 are repeats) fail to convince me that your religion is peaceful or loving. For instance:

"And argue not with the People of the Scripture unless it be in (a way) that is better, save with such of them as do wrong; and say: We believe in that which hath been revealed unto us and revealed unto you; our God and your God is One, and unto Him we surrender. (The Noble Quran, 29:46)"

Do not argue unless it be in a way that is better? Better for whom, and in whose opinion? I would not object to an argument, but we read each and every day that muslims don't try to persuade with reason, they try to coerce with threats. When that doesn't work, they invariably resort to violence. Not very loving, I'm afraid.

"Say: 'O People of the Book (i.e., Jews and Christians)! Come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah.' If then they turn back, say ye: 'Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will).' (The Noble Quran, 3:64)"

Come to terms? From what I've read that means either converting to islam, agreeing to live in dhimmitude, or death. Not feeling the love here.

"Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loveth not transgressors. (The Noble Quran, 2:190)"

Are there really limits that should not be transgressed? Apparently killing innocents, owning slaves and sawing off people's heads are all within the limits. Imams all over the world preach that it's acceptable in this religion, therefore it must be.

Sorry, Sohail, you'll never make me believe that your religion is at all loving or peaceful. The facts belie that.
