Reader comment on item: Trouble in Londonistan
in response to reader comment: Non-Muslims in the Quran

Hello Friend, I read your quotes of the Quran in your defense of accusations that it was intolerant. Indeed those lines exist in the Quran, but there are many other lines which outnumber the "tolerant" lines in the Quran. As the enemies of Islam selectively quote the Quran to prove their accusations that it is not a religion of peace and tolerance...so too do you, a defender of Islam use selective quoting in your defence of Islam.

It would be good if both parties just came out and stated factually the number of intolerant vs. tolerant verses in the Quran so that readers could objectively see the ratio and decide for themselves. I for one have defended Islam in the past (before reading the Quran)...but after reading it, I cannot defend it any longer with a clear conscience. It is unfortunate but that is what happened.

Peace to all peoples and religions or non-religions. Peace without exception.
