I wish Muslims - and arabs- would get their history right, i.e history told by anything other than the Koran and the nonsense written by Muslim 'scholars' who seem only able to rewrite history. I find is easy to believe that muslims do not understand history because they are only taught the islam version of events. Which is why they seem to think arabs have a historical right to live in palestine even they know full well they got there by spilling blood and now don't like it when the tables are turned and have come across someone who can resist jihad.

How many indifels have the muslims slaughtered over the last 1,000 years to get that piece of land? So you won't find me crying over 300-odd lebanese. How pathetic is it for Muslims to cry 'warcrimes' agaist Isreal when Muslims have slaughtered millions and buried religions and cultures and languages, to exert dominance over the other peoples. The Assyrians is the classic example and they are STILL persecuted by Muslims 1,300 years later!

Back to Rome. From about 250AD the Roman Empire had been split into East and West to aid better goverance as the Empire had gtrown so big. The West was ruled from Rome, the East from Constantinople. After Christianity spread throughout the Roman world it too split - with Rome being the centre of Chrsitian faith and Constantinople being the centre of the Orthodox faith. The Roman Empire was worn down over centuries by internal strife and invasions by peoples from what is now Russia, Germany and France. It eventually crumbled in 350 AD, some 400 years before islam, but Rome as the centre of Christianity survives to this day. The Eastern bit became known as Byzantium , which was sacked by the Turks in the 13th C AD. So:

Rome was never conquered by Muslims - the Western empire run from Rome existed and fell hundreds of years before Islam and lasted from 753 BC to about 350 AD - which about as long as islam has existed. Which is lucky for Islam as Rome would have crushed Mohammed as he emerged from arabia before he could have said 'jizya'.
