Chanakya,

Your Taxonomy is vituperative but depressingly close to reality. If I were to suggest two possible modifications: the first is that "fifth column" muslims have a tendency to migrate to other other categories. Examine the Madrid train bombings which were performed by Muslim expatriots one of whom at least was a professional drug dealer moving to a higher echelon of anti-western activity. Second of all there is at least one other category of Muslim who we encounter here with astounding regularity and that is the "patronising sufi". In their attempt to transform Mohammed into some form of Jesus Christ figure these Muslims acknowledge that the crux of the problem is with Islam but expect the west to simply turn the other cheek in the face of multiple violent outrages. When we invariably do not they then proceed to lay the blame for continuing violence at the feet of the west and fatalistically affirm their own commitments to the conflict: "*sigh* I guess we'll have to fight you then," is the uniform manner in which their monologues end.

Cordially,

Reuben Horne.
