There is no 'Bad' Religion, just 'Bad' people who practice them

It is fair to say that the majority of Muslims we hear about are the extremists who carry out some of the practices mentioned in this article. However, to tarnish all Muslims and make such generalisations is very misleading, dangerous and inaccurate. The vast majority of the Muslim population are peace loving and have the same opinion as the rest of us about the Muslim extremists. They also hate the fact that it reflects on the rest of them as they have to bear the consequences! All religions have had 'dark' periods in history including Christians who travelled the world forcing those to convert by often using violence. Not that I'm condoning this kind of behaviour, but to point the finger at Islam today and categorise all who practice this faith as the same is nothing short of wrong and misguided, not to mention bigoted. It's the people as individuals who should be held accountable not the religion.
