in response to reader comment: 13 Types of Muslims : Your Comments are welcomed.

Dear Dr Pipes: Your reader Chanakya Acharya gave a remarkably complete taxonomy of the kinds of Muslims. His letter was first written in 2006. I applaud Mr Acharya for writing an almost a complete description. I am not sure if the following two additional types are covered by the 13 types described by Mr Acharya:

14th Type: Muslims who ask others to die but are themselves too coward to die: Think of the chief of ISIS. Also, think about bin-Laden. Both these people are/were manipulative enough to convince other human beings to kill themselves in the cause of Islam but they wont themselves follow their own advice. How much happier our world would have-been/become if bin-Laden himself had done a suicide mission (or the current ISIS chief does it now). Ideally, I will hope that these suicide missions are only partially successful.

15th Type: Muslims who hopefully are like everyone else: Does a Muslim exist who believes that carrying their religion up their sleeves 24x7 is not very polite to others? Who believes that Islam is good but has its shortcomings also. Who believes that a religion can be practiced in the privacy of one's home and does not have to be always practiced on the streets. etc etc.
