Reader comment on item: Counting Islamists
in response to reader comment: KEITH

Hi btilly,

Muhammad taught the same religion as Jesus. We follow all the prophets of God, peace be upon them all because they had the same message, the message of Islam. If you follow Muhammad then you are following Jesus my friend. Muhammad is the last prophet and we follow him and his message because all of the messages from all the prophets before Muhammad were lost or corrupted. Therefore, if you follow Muhammad you are indeed following what Jesus original message was.

Also, I didn't say he didn't die, I said he was not killed. You said it yourself, "he gave his life", I agree and I add that they did not take it.

This ayah is saying that God caused Jesus to die and then he raised him.

003.055
YUSUFALI: Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute.

This one is saying that the Romans and Jews thought they killed him.

004.157
YUSUFALI: That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

The prophet Muhammad said these things about Jesus in the hadiths.

Volume 4, Book 55, Number 654:

Narrated 'Umar:

I heard the Prophet saying, "Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians praised the son of Mary, for I am only a Slave. So, call me the Slave of Allah and His Apostle."

Volume 4, Book 55, Number 652:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "Both in this world and in the Hereafter, I am the nearest of all the people to Jesus, the son of Mary. The prophets are paternal brothers; their mothers are different, but their religion is one."

peace
