Our dear Keith seems to have no clue about what I wrote anmd the topos for today is "you agree with me" the old tablighee little game

>You said the exact same thing that I did.

Really? where?

>>Bottom line up front, we can't interpret the Qur'an, which is 1400 years old, with a 20th Century Arabic to English Dictionary.

I wrote the exact opposite that what makes the Qur'an unique is that it is literature/scripture and stablization of the meaning of the words of the Qur'an is what the Muslim masora was all about and through the work of the masorites we have a stable book and a makkar of 1400 years is the makkar of today and if you did not understand that much then you are ignorant

<< After going around and around in circles you came back to my conclusion. Good try though.

Then you quote me saying that the Quanic Arabic word makkar has a different meaning from the word makkar in let us say Hans Wehr dictionary which is a modern Arabic/English dictionary. I challenge you to prove me wrong and you know what? All the modern reader need to translate the Qur'an is a modern Arabic dictionary (and you can quote me on this one) gasp!!! as all the Quranic words that have no meaning as in the case of ilaf and kalala you will not find them any where except in the Qur'an or the likes of tur (mountain in Syriac) as it is not an Arabic word and you will not find it because it is not an Arabic word.

Now you either put up or ....oh well you know the rest

thanks for paying attention.
