The difference between radical and moderate beliefs

Reader comment on item: Counting Islamists
in response to reader comment: What Religion Doesn't have an Image of God?

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Oct 15, 2008 at 17:45

God may only be invisible to the eye, but not the heart. He created man in His image, and made everyone, even the atheist, know that HE IS. He has also given man a free choice to believe or not believe; one cannot be forced to believe anything. But these points were not part of my comment. Thank you, I have just perused the website www.whyislam.org. I am not intolerant but I do not wish the intolerance of radical Islam to overtake any Western country, especially ours.

M. Zhudi Jasser has spoken out against radical Islam, and he being a devout Muslim, according to his own admission. Already Shari'a law is encroaching the United Kingdom, and the once strong British people have gone weak at the knees, allowing it in. Throughout history any radicalism as an offshoot from any religion has resulted in nothing but repression at best and death at worst. I lived in Indonesia for six years and Egypt for ten years, so I know a little about Islam, and have seen a great change in both countries, leaning toward radicalism rather than accepting that there are those who prefer a more moderate approach to their religion. And with this radicalism comes intolerance for many things, including the freedom to worship as one pleases.

Please re-read my comment, it was about radical Islam, not Islam in general.
