Reader comment on item: Counting Islamists
in response to reader comment: The true Word of God

Masood,

My take on it is that all real religions were started by genuine spiritual masters. These masters were highly conscious , aware people who showed their followers where the true Kingdom of Heaven was - within the followers themselves. That's why Jesus speaks of 'the Kingdom of Heaven' is within you - it literally is - it is the connection with our own divine self. The Word of God is the connection with the Life Force which is the source of consciousness.

The writer Aldous Huxley put it:

"it is because we don't know Who we are, because we are unaware that the kingdom of Heaven is within us, that we behave in the generally silly, often insane, the sometimes criminal ways which are characteristically human. We are saved, we are liberated and enlightened, by perceiving the hitherto unperceived good that is already within us, by returning to our eternal Ground, and remaining where, without knowing it, we have always been'.

Buddha approached it from another angle - and said that as far as every individual is concerned, ultimately everything is an illusion except the True Self and that the goal of life is enlightenment. Hindu's speak of Moksha - liberation from the ego - by becoming merged with the Universal Self - or 'God' - the all-pervading force.

here is something you could look at:

I am not a Hindu - or Indian - and do not want to pitch a particular interpretation but the message is universal - the what we seek is already within us so I would suggest you look into meditation to find the deep fulfillment we both seek and need. What we look for is already inside us - but you need to find the way in and then persevere with it until Truth takes you on a most amazing journey of discovery.
