Good article btilly, and I would like to add to it. Muhammad lived in Mecca and was forced out when he began preaching about Allah, and was driven to Medina. Several years later, he returned to Mecca and took control. The Ka'aba is in Mecca. At the time of Muhammad, there were 360 gods living in the Ka'aba. Muhammad threw out 359 gods and left a black meteorite, and it's name; why Allah of course.
