sTs: Have you seen an ostritch egg with flattened ends?

sTs, this is what I found about dahaha:

Dahaha

Arabic: دَحَاهَا

Transliteration: Dahaha

Context: Qur'an 79:30

Common Muslim interpretation: egg shaped

Correct Meaning: ‘spread' or ‘stretched'

The earth, sTs, is flat at the poles. I have not heard of any egg, leave alone that of an ostritch, whichare flat at two ends and bulges in the middle. Biology probably comes in the way of such a shape. So why did not allah tell us that it is shaped like an orange? No Arabic word existed for orange during the prophet's time??

Regards

Plato
