A true storyReader comment on item: Counting Islamists Submitted by NewStudentToArabic (Cyprus), Dec 26, 2008 at 03:04 HI, Dhimmi no more, I have lived in Muslim countries for several years now - both Arabic and non-Arabic - and have seen first hand the lengths they go to. I had a student who one day began going on and on about how terrorist bombings had no place in Islam and that "true jihad" is about the struggle "within". I said, "That's called 'Jihad al-Nafs' what about Jihad as-Saif (jihad by the sword) or Jihad al-munufiqun (hypocrites)?'" I He then had nothing more to say. When suicide bombers attacked a hotel very near us killing several people, this same kid said openly in class, "You have to admire that kind of bravery. I mean to risk everything like that for Allah, you have to admit that is brave." This little darling openly praised what he before had said had no part in the religion. It truly sickened me. The sad thing is that this kid, who is also very westernized, may find himself begging for his life at the hands of those who think he is not a good enough Muslim.
