"As a religion, Hinduism is inexplicable--perhaps it should not even be considered as a single religion (*); if you wish to find God, follow the God of the Bethlehem stable"--Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, erstwhile Indian President.

(*) Eh, as I mentioned in another post, the term Hindu has never been "tightly" defined; the range goes from the derogatory term used for all natives of Sub-continent used by Delhi Sultans prior to 1345 ("Mad King" Tuqluq's move back from Daulatabad to Delhi) to the pre-1926 British India definition which was basically a "leftover" category excluding Muslims, Christians (Jews lumped here due to never exceeding 100,000 in entire Sub-continent), Sikhs, Buddhists (very few at that time, almost all in Ladakh and Chittagong Hill Tracts), Parsis, dalits and indigenous tribals; the post-1926 definition (lobbied for by K.M. Munshi) included dalits and tribals (I have two theories on his motivations--Sunder Raj didn't explain them--neither of which paints Munshi in good light).
