Another, but apter comparison

Reader comment on item: Israel's Predicament at 60: World's worst neighbourhood

As Pipes stated, the comparison of Pakistan to Israel is unoft made--and it is notable that the first to make this was a war-criminal Naziesque dictator of Pakistan.

More aptly, Israel can be compared to independent India:

  • Both were gotten by British from declining (and responsible for own decline) Muslim ruled areas--Holy Land, Jordan and most Arab nations (Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Qatar, Kuwait) were all non-pre-existing states under Ottoman Turkish rule from 1453 (fall of Constantinople) to 1918, while much of India had been under Mughal rule from 1556 (return of Humayun) to 1707 (death of Aurangzeb)
  • In both cases, Muslim state(s) were established fist through demands of viperous, power-mad, not-necessarily-even-religious Muslims (at the 1937 London dinner where Jinnah first decided to call his demanded nation "Pakistan", the items served were Chablis, oysters and bacon--which Jinnah consumed; additionally, Jinnah was known for consuming more whisky than a proverbial crew of sailors); in Muddle East, these demands were made and filled between 1918 and 1939--and the rulers showed their viperous mindset by their political support of Nazis through WW2
  • The Muslim states in both areas developed an extreme (and continuing) hatred against the non-Muslim states, and performed acts of aggression against them
  • When they have been defeated (or even repulsed with difficulty due to non-Muslim state's lack of preparedness), the Muslim states in both areas have screamed bloody murder to all and sundry, especially to Useless Numpties
  • Both India and Israel are democratic nations with substantial percentage Muslim populations (India at 20 unofficially, Israel at 18) which have even in original laws all freedoms--demoed best by Druze Azmi Bishara's run for PM of Israel; and in both nations, Muslims have gotten some high cabinet (in India specifically, one Home Minister--equivalent to a combination of US Attorney General and Chief Justice SCOTUS) and military (Idris Latif, erstwhile Indian Air Force Chief, and M.A. Zaki, erstwhile GOC Indian Army Northern command) posts. Contrast with absolute monarchial (any posts rely on bootlicking of monarch) or Naziesque regimes in Muslim states
  • Muddle East Muslim states play with "Islam's glory" theme for home consumption and "victicrat theme" with outside agencies (such as Useless Numpties), and Pakistan is forced by history to use both simultaneously even at home (but Muslim Pakistanis almost always fail to see the contradiction in this)
  • Both were led by decisive women leaders who won wars (Indira Gandhi in 1971, Golda Meir--albeit unprepared--in 1973)--note that this does not imply correctness of non-wartime decisions
